Does it look like it's snowing when you get to scratching your head? It could be dry scalp, but on the other hand it could be dandruff. A lot of people think the two are the same and can be treated similarly, but in reality they can not. I wanted to be as correct as I could in explaining the differences so I cracked open the good ole Milady Barbering book so I can break down the differences for you.
So what is it??
Dry scalp is exactly what it sounds like, lack of moisture on the scalp. It has a somewhat easier fix than dandruff. According to Milady, dandruff is the buildup of oil and skin cells growing and dying too quickly. It's triggered by a fungus called Malassezia which is common on everyone's scalp. However, some people produce too much of this fungus which causes the overgrowth of skin cells. This results in the big flakes on the scalp we call dandruff.
How can I fix it?????
At this point, you're probably wondering how this can be fixed. When it comes to the dry scalp, The Loc Doc Essentials Rose and Aloe Hydration Mist is just for you. Both rose water and aloe vera juice, which are the main ingredients in the mist, are loaded with various vitamins and minerals that contribute to the overall health and strength of your hair. Consistent, daily, hydration from our hydration mist, paired with the Loc Doc’s Herbal Infused Hair Growth Oil as a sealant will ease the itchiness of dry scalp.
As far as reducing dandruff symptoms, simply washing your hair routinely with a clarifying shampoo will reduce the appearance of the huge flakes. However, that's only half the battle. You have to establish a hair care routine if you want to actually see the results. Hydrating your hair is an essential part in the hair care routine. That's where our Essential Bundle comes into play. Hydrating your hair will make it feel soft and bring back the volume. Our Herbal Infused Hair Growth Oil will lock in the hydration, while also restoring the luster to your hair. The oil is infused with 6 different herbs to help relieve itching and dandruff symptoms.
Everything you need to tackle your hair problems are available right here, but the main thing you need is consistency. Over time, you’ll notice that your dry scalp and dandruff symptoms are reducing.
