When I was a little girl, I spent every other Saturday in the hair salon getting a silk press, not by choice but by force, and over time I just adapted to the look. Up until the age of 18, my hair was being taken care of for me so I didn't really care what was happening to it. Issues with my hair arose when I got to college because I had no idea how to properly take care of my natural hair. 

After a bunch of failed attempts at managing my loose natural hair, I entered the world of locs, not really knowing the proper maintenance. 

I started my first set of locs without a good foundation. Overtime, I realized that the look I had wasn't the look I was going for so I cut my hair off and started from square one again (I had a shrub of hair, not completely bald lol.) After maintaining the lining and taper I had, while growing my hair and actually LEARNING proper hair care, I realized that this is something I actually enjoyed doing. It felt like a full circle moment!

 In 2022, I enrolled in barber school, and throughout that journey, I learned professional haircare and furthered my education in dreadlock maintenance. 

After passing the state board, I focused on growing my clientele, and the common issue of dry, itchy scalp came up in most conversations we would have. My clients always asked what products I recommend they get, and thus The Loc Doc Essentials was born!
